What a top day, started off with a 60 year olds health check with the nurse
and passed (only a few pounds overweight) and learned that I only have a
10% chance of a heart attack in the next 20 years - I think thats good news
??? Then made a wooden step so that our ancient cat can get in her new
catflap before biking down the docks to met up with Mag at her office for a
quick walk and share her cake:) before heading to the nature reserve at
Trimley Marshes to check out the flood damage. I ignore the tape warning
that the road is closed due to flooding and soon end up with two wet feet
as I ride through 50m of deep puddle - luckily I make it without falling in
!!! The wooden walkway linking the bird hides is now like a roller coaster
as the floods have lifted it :( I make it to the last hide on the winter
flood and the way in is blocked by water but I can't get any wetter so wade
to the hide for a snack and to watch lots of ducks. I then decide it would
be drier to continue to Levington Marina and back to Felixstowe on the
road.It was a glorious still, sunny day and it was good to see some sailing
boats in the river.I stopped at our favourite spot on the high bank at
Levington Bay looking straight up the Orwell for an orange. At the marina I
checked out the motoboat I played with will windsurfing on Sunday before
heading off on the last 6 miles home with my feet now getting cold so I lit
the fire when I got home to warm up - top day :)
